About Axiom

Axiom Discs is a colorful disc golf brand manufactured by MVP Disc Sports. Known for their vibrant GYRO™ overmold rims, Axiom features dual-color discs with a look and finish unique in the disc golf market. All their discs utilize MVP's GYRO™ technology, which features a dense overmolded rim that enhances disc performance.

History

Axiom Discs was launched in January 2014 as an offshoot brand by MVP Disc Sports. Founded by brothers Brad and Chad Richardson, who also founded MVP, Axiom was introduced after a week-long social media campaign teasing the new brand. According to MVP co-founder Brad Richardson, the inspiration for creating Axiom came partly from the company's line of glow plastic (Eclipse discs), which featured vibrant colors thanks to the brighter overmold. The key difference between MVP and Axiom discs is that while MVP maintained their signature black or white GYRO™ rims, Axiom introduced colored rims paired with various flight plate colors. This was described as taking MVP's GYRO™ technology to its "aesthetic extreme." Zachary Kelbaugh, creative consultant for both companies, noted that "the traditional black rim in the MVP lineup holds a strong aura with the theme of science and technology," while Axiom was created to be "more suitable to the idea of added style from colored rims." Axiom quickly established itself in the disc golf community with its unique visual appeal and high-performance discs. The brand's lineup was designed to complement rather than compete with MVP's offerings, with disc models that often bridged gaps between MVP models or offered similar flight characteristics with different feels. In 2021, Axiom gained significant visibility when sponsored player James Conrad used an Axiom Envy to make "the shot heard round the world" at the World Championships, leading to his victory as the first MVP-sponsored MPO World Champion.
