About Clash Discs

Clash Discs is a Finnish disc golf manufacturer that produces all their discs in North Karelia, Finland. The company leverages the region's renowned expertise in plastics, which traces back to Nokia's golden age when the company exclusively produced phone cases in the same area. Clash Discs is committed to crafting premium quality discs with exceptional grip and performance, focusing on providing players with discs that have a superior feel.

History

Clash Discs was born out of necessity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Founder Timo Nuutinen discovered that his son had lost a favorite disc that was out of stock everywhere and impossible to replace. This sparked his "light bulb moment" – he decided to make his own discs, and thus Clash Discs was born. The company moved quickly from concept to production. After spending the first year making molds and testing plastics, they had about ten different molds designed and tested by summer 2021. From November 2021 through January 2022 – less than two years after first tinkering with disc making – Clash had six disc molds approved by the Professional Disc Golf Association. In January 2022, they released a limited run of their Popcorn putter to the public, which was a huge hit in Finland. Clash Discs made a significant entrance into the disc golf community by signing touring pro Nikko Locastro with a six-figure contract. The company has rapidly expanded its distribution across Finland, other northern European countries, and the United States, with sales exceeding expectations. Their distinctive food-themed disc names and premium plastic blends have helped establish them as a notable presence in the disc golf market despite being a relatively young company.
