The history of Gorilla Disc Golf began with four passionate disc golf enthusiasts—Cory Cardenas, Jim Kelly, Stephen McFarland, and Chris—who established the organization with a clear vision to create events that would genuinely serve players' needs and interests. During their formative years, they focused on building a vibrant community through innovative tournaments and events that fostered strong relationships with players, setting the foundation for what would become a respected name in the disc golf world. As Gorilla Disc Golf expanded its operations, the company transitioned from solely organizing events to establishing a physical retail presence at the Bicycles of South Side shop in Seabrook, Texas, while simultaneously developing an online store featuring meticulously curated products. Under the leadership of Patrick Womack, the brand has further expanded its offerings to include both stock and custom-designed discs that cater to diverse playing styles and preferences. What distinguishes Gorilla Disc Golf is its unwavering commitment to treating all players as equals regardless of classification, actively seeking input from the community on everything from disc designs to event planning, and maintaining a family-like atmosphere that continues to attract loyal supporters to their growing "Gorilla community."
