History
The early history of Guru Discs reflects the organic growth of disc golf in Norway, beginning with that pivotal moment in 1986 when Sune Wentzel, who would become a key figure in the company's development, acquired one of those first orange Coupe frisbees. From these humble beginnings selling discs off a shoe rack at Tokerudberget, the business gradually expanded, eventually establishing a proper retail presence in Oslo's city center where the passion for disc golf was shared with every customer who walked through the door, cementing the company's community-first philosophy. In 2012, Guru Discs found its permanent home at Østre Aker vei 203, just six kilometers from where the journey began, operating alongside its sibling company Guru Disc Golf and parent company Sune Sport. The company's evolution took a significant turn when former European Disc Golf Champion Espen Møkkelgjerd and product development specialist Svein Roger Maan joined the core team, bringing their expertise to help Guru create its own line of innovative discs and bag designs. Throughout its growth, Guru has remained faithful to its Oslo roots and founding vision of making disc golf "the world's best social sport," focusing on how they interact with customers and the broader disc golf community.
