About Kastaplast

Kastaplast is an independent disc manufacturer based in Stockholm, Sweden, with a mission to create discs and gear of the highest quality. The company name literally translates to "throw plastic," reflecting their dedication to the disc golf culture, lifestyle, and community. They approach disc golf as a grassroots movement characterized by spontaneity, individuality, and freedom.

History

Kastaplast was founded in 2011 when Jonas Lindberg started a small prototyping workshop driven by experimentation and passion for disc golf. The business quickly grew beyond his basement as he was joined by Anders Källström and Per Jonson. Despite their growth, they've maintained their workshop approach to disc development, blending computer flight simulation, research, and extensive prototyping. In February 2022, Kastaplast announced that Latitude 64 had become a co-owner of the company. As part of this partnership, Kastaplast moved their production from Stockholm to Skellefteå, Sweden, where Latitude 64's factories are located. According to Kastaplast CEO Anders Källström, while production changed locations, the company maintained that "the soul and spirit of Kastaplast will stay the same," preserving the characteristics their discs are known for. More recently, Kastaplast became part of the House of Discs group, which includes Latitude 64, Westside Discs, and Dynamic Discs. This partnership has allowed Kastaplast to benefit from enhanced manufacturing capabilities and distribution channels while maintaining their unique approach to disc design. They're particularly renowned for their premium K1 plastic and their excellent glow-in-the-dark discs, with their Berg putter becoming one of the most popular discs in the market.
