About Latitude 64

Latitude 64 is a premier Swedish disc golf manufacturer known for producing high-quality discs and accessories. The company makes disc golf products with first-class quality and design, offering world-class discs that suit players of all skill levels, from experienced professionals to beginners. Their state-of-the-art factory, located in northern Sweden, is one of the largest and most advanced facilities in the disc golf industry. The company's philosophy centers around their passion for the sport, which drives every aspect of their operations and product development.

History

Latitude 64 was founded in 2005 by four experienced disc golf enthusiasts: David Berglund, Tomas Ekström, Svante Eriksson, and Johan Åström, who remain active in the company today. The founders were passionate players with extensive experience in the sport and shared a vision of elevating disc golf through high-quality products. The company name "Latitude 64°" refers to the geographical location of Bergsbyn (meaning "Mountain Village"), a residential community outside the coastal city of Skellefteå in northeastern Sweden, near the Arctic Circle. This specific latitude (64 degrees north) is where their hometown is situated. What began as a small basement project quickly grew into an international business. In 2012, Latitude 64 formed a pivotal partnership with Dynamic Discs, where Latitude manufactured Dynamic's discs while Dynamic helped with U.S. distribution. This relationship strengthened in 2017 when they jointly acquired Westside Discs, a Finnish manufacturer, forming what fans call the "Trilogy" of brands. The company reached another milestone in 2022-2023 when European private equity firms acquired controlling shares, creating the House of Discs conglomerate that now includes Latitude 64, Dynamic Discs, Westside Discs, Kastaplast, and several other disc golf-related companies.
