About MVP

MVP Disc Sports, founded in 2010, has made it their mission to advance disc golf by pioneering high-tech premium discs. At the forefront of their innovation is the patented GYRO™ Overmold Technology, which has firmly positioned MVP as the leader in disc golf technology. This unique manufacturing process creates discs with enhanced flight stability and accuracy through a special dual-polymer design that gives MVP products their distinctive appearance and performance characteristics.

History

MVP Disc Sports was founded in 2010 by two brothers, Brad and Chad Richardson, who are passionate about the sport of disc golf. After having worked in their father's plastic injection molding shop that specializes in two-step molding, they implemented these processes and developed GYRO® technology. The company name originated from their father's business, Maple Valley Plastics, which has been in operation since 1967. The brothers initially operated the company from their parents' barn for the first five years until they built and moved into a new headquarters in 2015, which they expanded in 2016 to more than 40,000 square feet. Over the years, MVP has grown to become one of the most prominent manufacturers in disc golf, expanding their product lines beyond just discs to include baskets, bags, accessories, and apparel. They have also launched an extended network of brands that include Axiom Discs, Streamline Discs, and Hive Disc Golf. The company gained significant attention in 2021 when their sponsored player James Conrad made "the shot heard round the world" - a 247-foot throw-in with an MVP disc (the Axiom Envy) at the World Championships, which eventually led to his victory. In 2022, MVP further strengthened their market position by signing Simon Lizotte, one of the most popular professional disc golfers, who has since developed his own line of discs with the company.
