About Lone Star Disc

Lone Star Discs stands as a proudly Texan, family-owned and operated disc golf manufacturing company distinguished by its unique position as the only manufacturer that handles the entire production process—from molding to stamping to shipping—entirely within the state of Texas. Based in Conroe, approximately 40 miles north of Houston, the company has built its reputation on providing consistently high-quality discs for players worldwide, offering six distinct plastic types to meet various player preferences: Alpha (durable and firm), Bravo (grippy with flexibility), Lima (lightweight and biodegradable), Glow (illuminates with UV light), and Victor 1 and 2 (tacky with water flotation capabilities, with Victor 2 being stiffer than Victor 1).

History

The company's journey began in 2020 during an economic downturn in the oil industry, when founder Travis Dillard, a veteran with extensive experience in oilfield manufacturing, embraced an innovative suggestion from his disc golf-enthusiast sons, Travis Jr. and Synjin, who had been playing the sport recreationally for approximately 20 years. Leveraging their family's expertise with high-performance materials from their existing oilfield business, they collaborated with their engineers to create disc golf equipment using the same advanced materials, conveniently coinciding with the COVID-19 pandemic which sparked unprecedented growth in the disc golf market. Their ability to produce molds in-house has given them exceptional agility in developing new disc models, starting with their first PDGA-approved offerings—the Penny Putter and the Middy—and rapidly expanding to a comprehensive lineup that now includes putters, mid-ranges, fairway drivers, and distance drivers, all produced with a commitment to the core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and passion for growing the sport of disc golf.
